Jan Petter, born 1955, has worked on securities throughout his adult life. During his almost 30 years in the business he has acquired extremely good understanding of the dynamics and challenges of the markets. Jan Petter started his career with E. H Vestnes AS in 1980, after business management studies at BI (the Norwegian School of Management in Oslo) and the University of Geneva. In 1983 he became a partner in Gunnar Bøhn & Co, later known as Alfred Berg Norge. In 1986 he started work at Carnegie in London and established their Norwegian office in 1989. In 1994 he established his own company, Sirius Securities, which was bought up by Orkla Finans later that year. From 1994 to 2002 he was Head of Equities in Norway for Orkla Finans (Enskilda Securities), before being recruited to a similar position with Alfred Berg / ABN Amro Norge. Early in 2003 he took up the position of Nordic Head of Equities in that company. In September 2005 Jan Petter was appointed CEO of Kaupthing Norge, where he later became Global Head of Equities for the Kaupthing Bank.
